Each year, our center hosts a Graduation Ceremony to honor our Preschool and Elementary Graduates. During this special event, children present performances such as dance, drama, and chorus for their families, showcasing their talents and celebrating their hard work.
Graduates are awarded their diplomas, and we come together as a community to celebrate their achievements and wish them success as they transition into the next stage of their educational journey.
In October, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, where children have the opportunity to learn about diverse Hispanic cultures and traditions. During this celebration, they explore different types of music, games, stories, and customs, and even taste dishes from various Hispanic regions. This helps children gain a broader understanding of the Hispanic culture and fosters pride in their own heritage.
In February, we recognize Black History Month, highlighting the contributions, history, and culture of African Americans. Through music, art, storytelling, and activities, children develop a deeper appreciation for diversity and inclusion.
These celebrations promote understanding, respect, and pride in cultural identities, helping our students embrace the richness of diversity.
We celebrate major holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Parents are actively involved in all these celebrations, making them special, memorable experiences for our children and fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
Throughout the year, we offer many enriching events for children to enjoy, including excursions, performances, and birthday celebrations. Parents and family members are invited to join certain events, while others are designed just for students. Some of our exciting field trips include visits to water parks, Amelia Park, McDonald’s, the Zoo, libraries, museums, and many other interesting places.
At My Happy House, we go beyond academics by nurturing compassion and social responsibility. As part of our commitment to the community, we organize donation drives to support those in need. Our students also have the opportunity to visit homeless shelters, where they help serve food—learning firsthand the value of kindness, empathy, and giving back.
We emphasize parent participation, recognizing parents as a child’s “first teacher.” To support this, My Happy House provides services that enhance family stability while also helping parents reinforce literacy skills at home. We organize literacy events that last an entire month, during which we invite parents to visit classrooms and read storybooks to their child’s class.
At My Happy House, children’s safety and health are top priorities. Each year, we invite community helpers—such as police officers, firefighters, and dentists—to educate children about safety, including how to say “NO” to strangers and what to do in emergencies
Each year, we hold an Annual Transition Activity for VPK and Kindergarten children. This event, designed for both children and their parents, provides an opportunity to visit future classrooms, meet teachers, and learn about the upcoming program. This helps ensure a smooth and confident transition into the next phase of their education
Additionally, Carlos Suarez, our assistant director, believes that children often lack the skills to protect themselves. He provides lessons designed to help children learn how to stay safe, including basic first aid, how to use 911, and injury prevention.
